Binoculars are two small telescopes mounted side by side, allowing you to use both eyes to view. They use lenses at the front to focus light, which is then reflected via prisms to the eyepieces. The use of prisms makes binoculars more compact.

Porro Prism binoculars are ideal for astronomy as they allow up to 15% more light to pass through compared to Roof Prism models.

Binoculars provide a wide-angle, low-magnification view, making them excellent for exploring the sky and terrestrial viewing.

Due to their low magnification, binoculars are generally not ideal for viewing planets.

Smaller models like the 10x50 or 15x70 can be handheld. Larger models, such as the 20x80 or 25x100, require a tripod for stability.

The first number is the magnification. The second number refers to the aperture, which determines how much light is captured and how much detail you can see.

Note: Many binoculars use undersized prisms, which makes them lighter and cheaper but reduces the effective aperture. The Astronz Premium 20x80 and 25x100 binoculars have full-sized prisms, providing superior views and more detail.

The Astronz Premium binoculars have individual focusing eyepieces, making it easy to adjust for each eye. Handheld models like the 10x50 and 15x70 feature central focusing, with a diopter adjustment for the right eyepiece.

BAK4 glass offers better light transmission than BK7 glass. Fully multi-coated optics reduce distortions and improve clarity.

Waterproofing varies across binocular models. Most modern binoculars are resistant to rain and humidity through airtight seals but are not designed for full submersion.

Keep the lenses covered when not in use. Clean with a solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol, and dab rather than wipe to avoid scratches. If the binoculars are dropped, ensure they are properly aligned to avoid double images.

If portability and handheld use are your priorities, we recommend the 10x50 or 15x70 models. For more detailed views, the 20x80 Premium or 25x100 Premium models are ideal, and they can be mounted on the Astronz Heavy Duty Tripod for stability and ease of use.
